Personalized Weight Loss for Women 60+

How Much Weight Can I Expect to Lose With Kimberly?

Kimberly’s philosophy is that a healthy, sustainable rate of weight loss is up to 2 pounds per week.

Her goal is not simply to make the number on the scale go down as quickly as possible. Her focus is on helping you lose body fat while preserving muscle.

She believes that losing up to 2 pounds per week is a pace your body can sustain while you create a healthier way of eating that can become part of your lifestyle.

Lose fat. Protect muscle. Keep moving toward a healthy weight for you.

Why Only 2 Pounds?

Because Kimberly Is Focused on Fat Loss — Not Just a Lower Number on the Scale.

Kimberly’s goal is not rapid weight loss. It is to help you lose fat, protect the muscle your body needs, and create a way of eating that helps you continue making progress until you reach a healthy weight for you.

Fat Loss Is the Goal

In Kimberly’s experience, when weight is coming off faster than about 2 pounds per week, more of that loss is likely to be coming from muscle and water rather than fat alone. She is not interested in making the scale fall quickly if the weight being lost is not the weight you actually want to lose.

Protect the Muscle Your Body Needs

Kimberly wants weight loss to come from body fat while preserving as much muscle as possible. That is especially important as we get older, when maintaining strength and muscle becomes an important part of staying active and feeling well.

Build a Way of Eating You Can Sustain

Kimberly believes that losing up to 2 pounds per week is a pace your body can sustain while you create a healthier eating lifestyle. The objective is not simply to weigh less six weeks from now. It is to learn how to keep moving toward the weight you want to reach.

Your Health Can Change Too

Kimberly Can Help Improve More Than Your Weight

Kimberly’s philosophy is that improving the way you eat should not only help you lose weight — it should also improve the health conditions that are being affected by what you eat. Three of the areas where Kimberly sees some of the greatest impact are A1C, cholesterol, and high blood pressure.

A1C — Prediabetes & Diabetes

For clients with prediabetes or diabetes, Kimberly’s goal is to significantly lower A1C — often bringing it into the normal or close-to-normal range.

In Kimberly’s experience, nearly all of her clients who begin with an elevated A1C see a significant reduction after working with her.

But bringing the number down is only part of the goal. Kimberly teaches you what is affecting your blood sugar, how the foods you eat influence it, and how to make choices you can continue making on your own so you understand how to keep your A1C down.

Cholesterol

Kimberly can help clients significantly improve their cholesterol and, in many cases, bring elevated cholesterol into a healthy range.

Just as importantly, she helps you understand what is driving your cholesterol and what changes in the way you eat can help keep those numbers healthier over time.

The goal is not simply a better cholesterol result at your next lab test. It is understanding how to maintain healthier levels.

High Blood Pressure

Kimberly can help improve high blood pressure by changing the eating patterns and weight-related factors that can contribute to it.

Her goal is not only to help bring blood pressure down, but to teach you how to eat in a way that supports healthier blood pressure over time.

As with weight, A1C, and cholesterol, Kimberly wants you to understand what is working so you know how to keep doing it.

Lose weight. Improve your numbers. Learn how to keep them healthier.
Because Real Life Is Where Your Way of Eating Has to Work

When Something Changes, You Should Be Able to Adjust While It Is Happening

One of the things Kimberly’s clients often say they value most is her daily support. For Kimberly, the work does not stop when a consultation ends. The daily guidance between sessions is just as important in helping clients make lasting changes.

As clients learn to make those changes, questions and challenges rarely wait for the next scheduled appointment. Hunger, restaurants, travel, changing routines, and unexpected situations happen in real time. That is why Kimberly stays in close contact with her clients—so they can reach out while something is actually happening, work through it together, and learn how to make choices they can eventually feel confident making on their own.

ClientHow does this look for dinner?
KimberlyGood choice. Next time, with a meal like this, ask for the sauce on the side.
ClientI didn’t even think about that. I’m going to try to remember to always do that.
KimberlyYes! Then you can use just enough sauce to give the food the flavor you want without having it oversaturated with a high-calorie dressing. It puts you in control.
ClientI love that ❤️

The Goal Is Not Perfection. It Is Knowing What to Do Next.

When something is not working, you do not have to keep doing the same thing and wonder why it feels so difficult. You can look at what is happening with Kimberly and make a thoughtful adjustment while the situation is still current.

  • Choosing what to order at a restaurant
  • Building meals that are satisfying enough to live with
  • Working through hunger, low energy, bloating, or a change in progress
  • Navigating travel, holidays, social events, and disrupted routines

As you work through those situations together, Kimberly explains what she is looking at so you begin to recognize your own patterns, understand what your body may be telling you, and build tools you can use long after the program ends.

I do not use the term, “miracle worker,” lightly, but it absolutely applies to Ms. Kimberly Gomer. For years I struggled with weight gain, inflammation, and resistance to weight loss due to a medical condition. After working with other nutritionists and doctors, and exhausting what felt like every strategy/program available with no result whatsoever, I genuinely felt weight loss was just not possible for me. I felt frustrated and defeated. A friend, suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis, shared that as a client, he found Ms. Gomer’s help to be invaluable in managing his health, and he highly recommended that I contact her.

From our first discovery appointment, I found Ms. Gomer to be professional, experienced, knowledgeable, immensely understanding, and empathetic. I felt heard and motivated and decided to partner with her. I am so glad I did. She provided (and still provides) practical and clear guidance that was easy to integrate into my life, and involved real food and real nutrition. Despite never feeling hungry or deprived, the results have been astonishing. I have been losing a pound and a half a week. I look forward to our continued relationship as I pursue good health, through meal plans that are created especially for me, my conditions, and my goals. I am forever grateful for Ms. Gomer’s expertise and support.

I have been dieting– off and on— for most of my life, and I have never worked with a nutritionist as effective and intuitive as Kimberly. The anti-inflammatory diet she recommended for me works beautifully: I am never hungry, never have cravings, am able to adapt it to restaurant lunches and dinners with ease I just turned 86, and in less than six months, I have lost almost 30 pounds. I am close to my goal weight; my doctors are thrilled with my “numbers,” and I am happy with the way I look and feel. Kimberly is a pleasure to work with, and a first-rate coach.

Client Review

I am a 74-year-old female who has been working with Kimberly for the past 3 months. Over the past few years, my A1C started to climb, and I was getting close to becoming diabetic. The doctors in my life told me to eat fewer carbs and wanted to put me on medication. I refused and had to figure out what plan B was.

My brother had been working with Kimberly with great success and recommended that I give her a call. I immediately liked her because she was easy to talk to, very knowledgeable, and I could sense how passionate she was about helping people reach their goals.

She taught me how and when to test my blood and gave me a way of eating to help me lose weight and lower my blood sugar. I loved the fact that she was always there to answer questions or concerns I had. The only thing I had to be talked into was sending her a picture of every meal I ate. A few weeks later, I totally understood why. She was able to look at my food and make suggestions as to changes I could make to reach my weight and blood sugar goals. It was so easy for her to do by just looking at what I had eaten.

So fast forward to today and I have lost weight and my A1C has dropped to a much better number. I am thrilled and could not have done it without Kimberly’s help. I would highly recommend her services. I always enjoy our Zoom talks and have learned so much. Thank you, Kimberly, for all you have done for me!

Working with Kim has honestly been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. She never put me on a strict diet or made me feel restricted. Instead, Kim helped me make real lifestyle changes by learning how to eat better in a way that actually fits my life.

She met me where I was, listened to my goals, and guided me step by step with patience and encouragement. I learned how to make healthier choices without feeling overwhelmed or deprived, and the weight loss came naturally as a result.

What I love most about Kim is that she truly cares. She teaches, supports, and empowers you instead of just telling you what not to eat. Because of her, I feel more confident, informed, and motivated to continue living a healthier lifestyle.

If you’re looking for someone who focuses on long-term health—not quick fixes—Kim is the one. I can’t recommend her enough

Once I entered my mid-forties I began putting on weight and the tactics I used when I was younger no longer worked. I had accepted that this was my mid-life, perimenopausal body and there was nothing I could do about it. When I started working with Kimberly, I had recently turned 50 and was frustrated with trying to lose weight to no avail. Kimberly taught me what, when, and how to eat, and she served as an accountability partner daily! Yes…daily!!!! She is firm, yet understanding and set reasonable, achievable goals for me. I lost 15 lbs in two months by following her plan, and the best part is I don’t feel like I’m on a diet. It’s a journey and Kimberly is an incredible guide!

I first met Kim about 2 1/2 years ago at the Pritikin Wellness Center. I enjoyed her classes and coaching while at Pritikin, so I decided to continue with her coaching upon my return home. I found her to be very knowledgeable and informative. From helping me through the tough holiday time, as well as summers at the beach. She suggests different brands for food, as well as supplied me with recipes she has made and enjoys herself. Kim has been through the healthy living journey herself and coaches from her own experiences. I find she holds me accountable for my actions, without making me feel bad about myself. One of the things I really appreciate about Kim is she meets you where you are in your journey and helps you move forward. She is very motivating and I am always uplifted after speaking with her. To date I have lost around 40 pounds and have managed to keep it off for 2 1/2 years. I have stopped taking 3 different medications for blood pressure and diabetes. She has changed my outlook and my relationship with food.

Why Work With Kimberly

28 Years of Experience Is Only Part of What Makes Her Different

Kimberly has spent more than 28 years helping people who often came to her after other approaches had not worked. Over that time, she has learned that lasting change rarely comes from simply giving someone another set of food rules.

It comes from understanding the person.

Your health. Your weight history. Your medications. Your appetite. The foods you enjoy. The way you live. What has worked before—and what has become harder as your body and your life have changed.

That is what Kimberly brings to every client relationship: the experience to see the bigger picture, identify what may actually be getting in the way, and help you make changes that feel realistic enough to live with.

Commonly Asked Questions

Will I have to count calories, weigh my food, or use an app to track everything I eat?

No. Kimberly does not believe that living the rest of your life counting calories, weighing food, or logging every bite into an app is an eating lifestyle most people can realistically maintain.

What she teaches instead is something very different: being calorie-conscious without counting calories.

That means learning which foods you can eat more freely, which foods are worth limiting or avoiding, and how seemingly small choices can dramatically change a meal. It also means learning which foods can help support your energy, which choices may leave you feeling tired or sluggish, and when certain foods may work better—or be better avoided—at different times of the day based on your body, health, and routine.

Kimberly wants you to understand food well enough that good decisions begin to feel logical and natural. You learn how to look at a restaurant menu, put together a meal at home, handle a snack, or make a choice while traveling without having to calculate everything you eat.

Changing the way you think about food is a major part of Kimberly’s approach. Instead of thinking, “How many calories am I allowed to have?” you begin thinking about what different foods actually do for you—how satisfying they are, how they affect your energy, whether they help you reach your goals, and how they fit into the way you want to live.

The goal is not to become better at following another diet. It is to develop a realistic, flexible, results-oriented way of eating that you understand well enough to manage confidently in everyday life.

I’ve worked with a dietitian before. Why would working with Kimberly be any different?

Kimberly is not a traditional appointment-based dietitian. With more than 28 years of experience—and a major focus throughout her career on helping women over 60 improve their weight, health, and quality of life—she has developed a much more hands-on way of working with clients.

Your scheduled consultations are only one part of that relationship. Kimberly spends hours over the course of your program helping you with the decisions that happen between appointments—what you are eating, what is working, where you are struggling, how your body is responding, and what needs to be adjusted.

She continually fine-tunes your approach with you instead of expecting you to follow the same plan until the next appointment.

That is what makes Kimberly’s approach much closer to having a concierge dietitian by your side. You have access to her seven days a week, so when real life creates a question or a problem, you can work through it while it is happening.

Kimberly’s role goes far beyond telling you what to eat. She becomes personally involved in helping you stay on track, solve problems as they arise, and keep adapting your way of eating until it works in your actual life.

What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a nutritionist—and why does it matter?

Today, becoming a Registered Dietitian typically requires about six years of college—a four-year bachelor’s degree followed by a master’s degree—plus at least 1,000 hours of supervised professional training, passing a national credentialing examination, and ongoing continuing education.

The word “nutritionist” by itself does not tell you what education, clinical training, or professional credentials someone has. Requirements vary significantly by state. In some states the title is not regulated, while other states have specific licenses or certifications for qualified nutrition professionals.

That distinction can become especially important when nutrition is connected with more than weight loss—such as blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, fatty liver, digestive concerns, medications, or other health issues.

Kimberly holds a master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition and brings more than 28 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian.

So you are not simply getting general advice about what to eat. You are working with an experienced Registered Dietitian who specializes in working with women over 60, understands how nutrition, weight, medications, and health can intersect, and can shape your eating approach accordingly. Kimberly can help support better energy while also helping improve nutrition-related health concerns and important health markers such as blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and liver health.

Do you accept insurance?

Kimberly does not accept insurance.

There are very few dietitians who provide the level of daily support, accountability and access between appointments that Kimberly provides. Insurance coverage is still primarily structured around the traditional model of scheduled appointments and generally does not account for the significant amount of time Kimberly spends helping her clients outside of those appointments.

For Kimberly, much of the most important work happens in real life — when you are deciding what to eat, struggling with a choice, seeing something unexpected on the scale, trying to understand a lab result, or simply need help staying on track.

That is why her program includes the ability to reach her throughout the week rather than limiting your support to the time you spend together during scheduled sessions.

Kimberly chose to build her practice around the level of support she believes gives her clients the best opportunity to lose weight, improve their health and create changes they can maintain — rather than around what an insurance plan is designed to cover.

What if I’m embarrassed about my weight or worried about being judged?

Kimberly understands how personal this can feel because she has lived through many of the same struggles herself. She spent much of her life trying different diets, struggling with her weight, and experiencing firsthand how frustrating and discouraging that cycle can be.

Kimberly ultimately lost more than 100 pounds and has kept it off. That personal experience is one of the reasons she approaches clients with so much compassion. She knows what it is like to want change, struggle with it, and feel disappointed when another approach does not last.

When you talk with Kimberly, you are not talking with someone who is there to criticize what you have done wrong. She wants to understand what you have been through, what has and has not worked for you, and what might finally feel realistic for your life.

You do not have to defend yourself or be embarrassed about where you are starting. Kimberly’s role is to listen, understand, and help you move forward without judgment.

What is the free Discovery Call actually like, and how is it held?

The free 30-minute Discovery Call is a relaxed, face-to-face conversation with Kimberly using Zoom.

Kimberly will spend the time getting to know you—what you have been struggling with, what you would like to change, your health and lifestyle, and what you have tried before. You can also ask her anything you would like to know about how she works or what she thinks might help in your situation.

Because Kimberly has experienced her own lifelong struggles with weight and dieting, she understands that talking about these things can feel very personal. Her approach is warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.

The call gives you a chance to meet Kimberly, ask your questions, and see how comfortable you feel talking with her before making any decision. Kimberly will not take on a client she is not confident she can help, and if you decide you are not ready to move forward, there is no obligation.

If you decide to work together, your private sessions are also held by Zoom, while Kimberly’s support between appointments happens through direct messaging so you can reach her when questions and real-life situations come up.
